Meet Nelson Beaulieu

Nelson Beaulieu is a proud husband, father, and Afghanistan War Veteran serving his community in New Hanover County. He and his wife, Amanda, are the proud parents of two young girls, Meadow and Autumn.

 

Nelson enlisted in the Army upon graduation from Portland High School in Portland Connecticut, out of a strong desire to serve and protect his country and his family. He served 6 and 1/2 years in the Army as a military police officer, deployed at Rhine Ordinance Barracks in Kaiserslautern, Germany. He served his country in Afghanistan from 2006-2007. He received an Honorable Discharge and moved to New Hanover County with his wife and daughters in 2008.

 

Nelson graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Master of Arts in History from American Military University in 2011. Two years later, he graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Master of Arts in Political Science, also from American Military University. For the past four years, he has taught History and Political Science at the University of North Carolina, Wilmington, and Cape Fear Community College.

 

Nelson Beaulieu is running for the New Hanover County School Board, to bring an educator’s voice and a fresh perspective to the issues that confront New Hanover County schools, teachers, and students.
